Pinkish Traveller

*still in the mood of playing with the new editing feature on Photobucket*

Even though my master dissertation is still far away from finished, the feeling of "Yay I finally coming back home" is already very strong. Thus, a new passport case was made.

I'm not really sure whether both premises are related, but the point is, I made a passport case! A new pink passport case from fabrics that I found at op-shops and Lincraft. I like this flower fabric because of the brand marking in near the selvage, which shows that this fabric is a vintage fabric (when I googled, the company doesn't produce screen print fabric any more. It's a Japanese company named unitika). Unfortunately, I did some mistake with the sewing: I positioned the inside pocket little bit slanted to one side T__T But it already happened. At least I made this for myself, so I just going to pretend everything's alright :)

So here it is, the heavily edited photos of my new passport case.

ps: as I mentioned before, I'm playing with the new feature on Photobucket, that's why you'll see different editing on the pictures

Materials:
1. Vintage flower fabric (you can see from the writing in the cover, it's directly from the fabric itself).
2. Solid colour fabric
3. Coordinated colour fabrics (green pattern and pink dots, both bought at Lincraft)
4. Velcro
5. Heavy weight interfacing
6. Feltcloth (to make the case fluffier)
7. Zipper (a pink one!)

Flower power!

So 2 weekends ago, me and my friend had a shopping spree and we fell in love with the flower headbands. I bought two, then I though, I definitely can make it by myself. Thank you to google and youtube guru, I finally made my first ever flower headbands <3

So here they are.

Model: One of my lovely student here, Myla

Materials:
1. Elastics (I found out the cheap black elastic is little bit too strong for my head)
2. Scrap fabrics
3. Buttons, lots of it
4. Internet connection (you know, to search how to make these flowers)

And yes, I'm playing with the new Photobucket's edit function. Why everything has to be very instagramish nowadays?

When my Mom and my Grandma fight for a bag...

I think all crafter out there know about Amy Butler. Yes, she's one of the "it" name in sewing world. I bought her bag sewing tutorial, Amy Butler's Style Stitches with a high expectation. Well, the book does have lots of  great bag, but blasphemy! The tutorial is quite difficult to follow (hopefully it's not because of my lack English), the illustration for the tutorial is very few, and the materials are very costly (there is no way that I will follow her materials suggestion).

Nevertheless, I managed to make one of the (supposed to be) beginner bag (that took me an entire day to make! What kind of beginner is that??). But it turns out very pretty and beautiful. My mom and my grandma fell in love in an instance, and voila, the bag is not mine any more.

So here it is, the bag, with a little tweak from the real design :)

Materials:

Fabric
- Reunion by Moda (Vanilla and Cherry Johnny's Jack and Graphite Ava's Apron)
- Some flower fabric I bought at Lincraft
- Two 2.5cm button
- Medium weight interfacing

SIDE A

SIDE B (Yes, I made it into a double sided bag)

INSIDE

The tweak: I made the bag 5cm smaller than the original pattern, remove the side pocket, made it double sided, and use button hole instead of following the instruction from the book.

Another cover by Wayne and Me :) This time it's Adele's Someone Like You. Without further comment, please enjoy!

That lovely top!

Flea market is always a good place to find some good but cheap products. I found this lovely flowy flowery fabric in a second hand event months ago. Since the fabric is quite small, I combined it with other fabric. Voila, a flowery sleeveless top :)

I made the pattern by myself. Unfortunately, the size of the armhole is just too small. Well, practice makes perfect. This is also the first time I use french seam to close the seam.

So, here it is, my lovely top :)

Cards!

Some cards that I made but haven't send it to anyone :)

1. Another vintage card.
This one is my personal favourite. A vintage themed card with paper flower, a used lace, a stamped crumpled paper, a flower-shaped ribbon, some thread from a jute leftover, a tag with vintage stamp on it, on an embossed card. I just love the final result of this card <3

2. A happy friends card
Just a simple card composition with fun papers, stamped flowers, and a stamped ribbon. I like the colour of the background paper. I got it from a friend :)

3. A Thank You Card
Another simple card, but it seems I was not very neat when I put the middle panel. Well, at least it shows that I made it by myself <3
